Yes, you can layer multiple serums! The key to layering skincare effectively is to apply products in order of their consistency, starting with the thinnest, water-based serums and finishing with thicker, oil-based or creamier products.
We recommend specific layering routines based on your skin concerns which can be found by clicking "Treat Skin Condition" under the "Your Skin" tab.
However, as a general guide:
Active Serums – Apply Vitamin C Serum first, as it absorbs best on clean skin and delivers powerful antioxidant benefits.
Hydrating & Water-Based Serums – Follow with water-based serums like our Hyaluronic B5 or Niacinamide B3, which hydrate and support skin repair by sealing in moisture.
Oils & Moisturisers – To seal in all the active ingredients, finish with a nourishing moisturiser or facial oil.

Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. There are two main types:
Physical exfoliation uses small particles or tools to manually slough off dead skin. This can include scrubs with granules, cleansing brushes, or exfoliating cloths. It provides instant smoothness but should be used gently to avoid irritation.
Chemical exfoliation relies on acids or enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. AHAs (like lactic and glycolic acid) exfoliate the surface, while BHAs (like salicylic acid) penetrate deeper into pores to help with congestion. Chemical exfoliants are often gentler and more effective for long-term skin renewal.
Our chemical exfoliation products include the Daily Cleanser, Cleansing Mousse, and Exfoliant Serum, which contain AHAs/BHAs to refine skin texture. Our AHA/BHA Scrub is a hybrid exfoliator, combining chemical exfoliants with finely milled bamboo for gentle physical exfoliation.
Results will vary depending on factors such as your skin concern, skin type, current skin condition, lifestyle, and overall health. Some people notice improvements in hydration and radiance within days, while concerns like uneven skin tone, congestion, or fine lines may take several weeks to months to show visible changes.
However, consistency is key; active ingredients like Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, peptides, and exfoliants work gradually to promote skin renewal and overall skin health. For optimal results, we recommend following a personalised routine tailored to your skin type and concerns. If you're unsure where to start, we would be happy to help you choose the best products for your needs.
Achieving a healthy, natural glow is a holistic process that involves both skincare and overall well-being. Glowing skin starts from within, so maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and supporting gut health all play a role in skin radiance.
For topical skincare, we recommend first identifying your skin type and selecting the most suitable products from our range. Please see our "Treat Skin Condition" page under the "Your Skin" tab for each skin concern to guide you. Two standout products for achieving a luminous glow are our Exfoliant Serum and Peptide Serum. The Exfoliant Serum gently removes dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and revealing fresh, radiant skin. The Peptide Serum supports collagen production, helping to plump and smooth the skin, giving it a firmer, more youthful appearance.
In addition to home skincare, professional treatments through our stockists can further enhance your glow. Treatments such as Enzyme and Hydrating Masks help replenish moisture and refine the skin’s texture. Our Plump & Restore Peel, formulated with lactic acid (which deeply hydrates and brightens) and mandelic acid (which gently resurfaces and improves skin clarity), is particularly effective for achieving a dewy, fresh complexion.

What you’re describing sounds like combination skin, where certain areas may feel dry and sensitive, while others are prone to oiliness and breakouts. This can make finding the right skincare routine a challenge, as overly hydrating products may trigger congestion, while traditional acne treatments can cause dryness and irritation.
We recommend starting with our combination skin product suggestions, designed to provide balance without over-drying or causing congestion. Since combination skin can vary, some leaning more towards dryness, others towards oiliness, it’s important to reassess how your skin responds. You may find that you need to adjust your routine by adding more hydration or opting for lighter products to maintain clarity.
To learn more, please see our "Combination" skin page under the "Your Skin" tab.
To maximise the shelf life of your skincare products, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. Excessive exposure to light and heat can degrade active ingredients like Vitamin C, retinol, and peptides, reducing their effectiveness over time.
For best results:
Keep products tightly sealed when not in use to prevent oxidation and contamination.
Avoid storing skincare in the bathroom if possible, as fluctuating temperatures and humidity can impact stability.
Some formulations, such as Vitamin C serums, may benefit from being stored in the fridge to maintain potency for longer.
Always check the packaging for specific storage instructions, and if you notice any changes in texture, colour, or smell, it may be time to replace the product.
It depends on your skin type and how long you have been using our products. Both the Vitamin A Serum and Exfoliant Serum work to increase cell turnover; Vitamin A supports skin renewal, improves texture, and targets fine lines, while the Exfoliant Serum contains exfoliating ingredients that help remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and promote a brighter complexion. Because both products accelerate exfoliation and can be drying or irritating, especially for sensitive or new users, we recommend alternating them initially to minimise the risk of irritation.
If your skin has already adjusted to both products and tolerates them well, you may choose to use them together. In this case, we suggest applying the Exfoliant Serum first, allowing it to fully absorb and dry before applying the Vitamin A Serum. This layering method ensures optimal absorption while reducing potential irritation.
As always, monitor your skin’s response and adjust your routine as needed. If irritation or excessive dryness occurs, scale back usage or consult with one of our stockists for personalised advice.
Our products are not specifically formulated for use during pregnancy and have not undergone testing for such circumstances. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the safety of our products during pregnancy. Furthermore, we also strongly advise against the use of products containing Vitamin A and salicylic acid during pregnancy, unless otherwise recommended by your healthcare provider.
VITAMIN C
Our serum delivers a highly effective 10% L-Ascorbic Acid — the purest and most active form of Vitamin C — suspended in a lightweight, fast-absorbing base. Unlike many brands that use derivatives (which require conversion in the skin), our formula is clinically potent from the first drop.
L-Ascorbic Acid is:
The only form of Vitamin C proven to stimulate collagen production
A powerful antioxidant, neutralising free radicals from sun, stress, and pollution
Clinically shown to help reduce pigmentation, dullness, and signs of aging
Many skincare brands use less effective, unproven derivatives of vitamin C to avoid dealing with the instability of pure vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid, or LAA). These derivatives rely on your skin to convert them into the active form, which is not considered the gold standard.
We’ve chosen to embrace the challenge of formulating with pure LAA so you get the most potent, high-performance results possible. The dropper dispenser is the best solution for maintaining the integrity of this formula. Plus, we listened to customer feedback—many of you like to see exactly how much serum is left so you can plan ahead and reorder in time.
Vitamin C naturally oxidises over time (no matter the packaging), but our stabilised formula stays potent and effective for 6–8 months after opening. If you notice a slight colour shift to pale yellow, that’s okay, that’s the normal colour development of the curcumin. If it goes much deeper (amber or brown), it’s time for a fresh bottle. Batch colour may vary slightly.
Store in a cool, dry place (the fridge is even better)
Use within 6–8 months
Use 1 small drop (AM only) followed by HB5 Serum or moisturiser
*Pro tipL a litter goes a long way - overuse can overwhelm the skin's barrier
A brighter, more even skin tone
Firmer, more plump skin
Improved skin texture
A smoother, hydrated glow, especially when paired with our HB5 Serum
LED LIGHT THERAPY MASK
Clean the mask after each use by gently wiping with a water-based wipe or damp cloth.
The infrared light can be used as an additional function, simultaneously with any other LED light. Combining infrared light with red, blue and yellow LED light has been found to accelerate results.
The LED mask uses 240 high-density LEDs and delivers four therapeutic wavelengths with consistent, even coverage across the face. It has an irradiance output of 40.8 mW/cm²., which puts it in the professional-grade range. Based on this, the fluence (J/cm²) delivered per treatment session is:
24.48 J/cm² for 10 mins
36.72 J/cm² for 15 mins
48.96 J/cm² for 20 mins
61.20 J/cm² for 25 mins
73.44 J/cm² for 30 mins
LED light therapy is generally considered safe for pregnancy and while breastfeeding. However, we always recommend consulting your healthcare professional for personalised advice.
For optimum results, use daily for 15-25 minutes during the first 4-6 weeks, then maintain results by using 2-3 times per week during the maintenance phase.
Our LED Mask can help with:
Redness and inflammation (Rosacea, sensitivity)
Acne and breakouts
Fine lines and wrinkles
Dull or uneven skin tone
Post-treatment healing support
Some users see improvements in as little as 2–4 weeks, especially in skin tone and radiance. For deeper concerns like fine lines, allow 6–8 weeks of consistent use.
None. LED therapy is non-invasive and painless, with zero downtime. It’s safe to use before bed or even before a big event.
Yes, LED therapy is commonly used post-treatment to speed up healing, reduce redness, and calm the skin. Always consult your clinician if unsure.
Each treatment protocol is outlined in detail in the manual, including specific skincare recommendations for before and after using the mask. As a general guide, we recommend always double cleansing prior to use and applying SPF 50 as a final step if using the mask in the morning.
THE FACE MAKEUP
The majority of The Skincare Company’s face makeup range consists of hybrid mineral makeup products. These formulas contain minerals like titanium dioxide, iron oxides, zinc oxide, mica, and silica, which provide coverage, sun protection, and light-reflecting properties.
Hybrid makeup blends pure minerals with skincare ingredients, enhancing hydration, application, longevity, and protection, including SPF and antioxidants to shield the skin from UV radiation and free radical damage, all while maintaining a lightweight feel. Within our Face Makeup range, hybrid mineral products include the BB Tinted Primer, Mineral Sheer Tint, Mineral Blush, Mineral Photo Touch Concealer, and Flawless Liquid Foundation.
Choosing the right foundation shade is essential for achieving a seamless, natural-looking complexion. The wrong shade can make your makeup look unnatural, whereas the perfect match enhances your skin’s natural beauty, creating a flawless, radiant finish.
To find your ideal shade, we recommend using our colour chart available on our website as a guide. However, for the most accurate match, visiting one of our professional stockists is the best option. Our trained stockists can expertly assess your skin tone, undertones, and overall complexion to ensure you find the perfect shade that blends effortlessly with your skin.
With the right foundation, your skin will look effortlessly smooth, balanced, and radiant, just the way it should!
Yes, some products in The Face Makeup range, including the BB Tinted Primer and Mineral Sheer Tint, contain SPF to help protect your skin from harmful UV radiation.
For optimal protection, we still recommend applying our Dry Touch SPF or Daily Defence before makeup and reapplying regularly throughout the day.
Yes, our BB Tinted Primer is an essential step for long-lasting makeup. It creates a smooth, flawless base that helps your tinted moisturiser or foundation adhere better and wear throughout the day. This silky, multitasking formula hydrates, smooths, and protects the skin while evening out tone for a naturally radiant glow. Wear it alone for light coverage or under foundation for enhanced longevity and a perfected finish.
Choosing the right foundation coverage depends on your skin’s needs and the finish you want to achieve. Here’s a breakdown of the differences:
Light Coverage – Perfect for a natural, “barely there” look, light coverage foundations even out skin tone while letting your natural complexion shine through. Ideal for those who prefer a fresh, dewy finish or just a hint of coverage.
Medium Coverage – A versatile option that provides more coverage while still looking natural. Medium coverage foundations can blur imperfections, even out skin tone, and offer a radiant finish without feeling too heavy.
Full Coverage – Designed to completely conceal imperfections, redness, or discolouration, full coverage foundations create a flawless, airbrushed effect. These foundations provide the most coverage and are often long-wearing, making them perfect for special occasions or when you need extra confidence in your makeup.
Whether you prefer a sheer, glowing complexion or a perfected, full-coverage finish, we have options to suit every skin type and preference!
Mineral Sheer Tint – A light to medium coverage tint that enhances the skin with a sheer, natural glow while nourishing, hydrating, and protecting. Wear it alone for a fresh, dewy finish or layer it under foundation.
Flawless Liquid Foundation – A medium to full coverage foundation with a lightweight texture that creates a radiant, flawless complexion with a natural luminosity.
Mineral Photo Touch Concealer – A full-coverage concealer enriched with light-reflecting minerals and line-filling microspheres to visibly smooth and brighten the complexion.
The Face by The Skincare Company Flawless Liquid Foundation is a lightweight, silky formula that glides onto the skin, delivering seamless, undetectable coverage with a radiant satin finish. Enriched with silk particles, it helps even out skin tone and blur imperfections for a naturally flawless look. For the best application, use our liquid foundation brush.
Our Flawless Liquid Foundation and Mineral Sheer Tint are lightweight, mineral-based, non-comedogenic, and ideal for oily skin.
The best way to remove your makeup at the end of the day is with The Skincare Company Cleansing Oil. This nourishing and purifying cleanser is suitable for all skin types and works as an effective first-step cleanser, effortlessly dissolving sunscreen, makeup, excess oil, and daily impurities while leaving the skin soft and hydrated.
Cleansing oils work by binding to oils and impurities on the skin, breaking them down without stripping away natural moisture. Unlike makeup wipes or harsh removers, which can cause irritation and leave behind residue, our Cleansing Oil gently lifts away makeup while maintaining the skin’s barrier and hydration levels.
It can be used as a standalone cleanser or as the first step in a double cleansing routine, followed by our Daily Cleanser or Cleansing Mousse for a deeper cleanse.
