The level of SPF in a product is determined by tests on human skin in a laboratory 🧪

Scientists measure how long it takes for intense ultraviolet radiation to burn skin when the product is applied compared to bared skin. For example, if skin protected with sunscreen takes 300 seconds to burn, but bare skin burns in 10 seconds, the sunscreen’s SPF is 30 (300 divided by 10).

A high level of sun protection is found in sunscreens with SPF 30, 40 and 50. However, SPF50+ sunscreens provide a ‘very high’ level of protection - with an SPF of at least 60.

This is your reminder to use an adequate level of SPF protection for your daily activities all year round ☀️

Have you ever noticed keratosis pilaris?

Keratosis pilaris is a common skin condition that causes rough patches and small, acne-like bumps on the skin.

It is caused by excess keratin production, which can block hair follicles and cause bumps to develop (often on the upper arms and thighs).

Our Body Lustre is formulated with actives to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin, and can therefore unclog blocked hair follicles. This makes it an effective treatment to reduce the appearance of keratosis pilaris.

For effective use, apply Body Lustre to clean, dry skin after showering in the evening.
